Specialized Therapy:
Spinal Distraction and Decompression

Another revolutionary feature of the Fenix Rehab System is the ability for the clinician to provide extremely economical spinal decompression therapy for their patients. Years of research has shown the importance of decompressing areas of the spine that have early disc degeneration and facet imbrications.
With this aspect of the Fenix Rehab System you can specifically stretch the paraspinal tissues around an involved spinal area. You can choose to stretch only one side or both sides at the same time. If you use 4 paired digits together you can stretch and decompress areas of the spine that are producing pain and stiffness, especially in the mid-back and low-back region.
To stretch and decompress the spine find the four angled paired holes approximately in the middle of the Fenix. These holes start at the second hole in the V-shaped pattern of holes throughout the middle of the Fenix.
Place 4 digits of the smallest size, either 1½ or 2 inches, depending on the tissue thickness and sensitivity of the area selected for treatment by you, the clinician. For example 4-1½ inch digits are generally used in treatment of the mid-back and 4-2 inch digits are used in treatment of the low back. But, this can vary from patient to patient. You will direct your patients on how best for them to decompress their spine using this feature.
With certain techniques you can actually vary the size digit. For example, on one end you can use the 2 inch digits against the sacral base and the 2½ inch digits approximately on each side of the third lumbar segment. This is an especially good technique for decompressing the lowback.
Another form of treatment with this feature is to use the 2 inch on one side of the spine and the 1 ½ inch digits on the other side of the spine. This method is ideal in areas of the spine with rotation and curvature of the spine, for example in the mid-thoracic with mild scoliosis.
